SEO consultant for UK law firms.

Most law firms don’t need another agency. They need one senior person who understands search, understands the SRA, and does the work themselves. I’m an independent SEO consultant working exclusively with UK law firms — no account managers, no junior delivery layer, no tie-in contracts.

The choice

Specialist consultant, SEO company, or agency: what solicitors are actually choosing between.

When a partner or marketing lead searches for a law firm SEO agency, an SEO company for lawyers, or a law firm SEO specialist, they’re usually weighing three different things.

01

A full-service agency

SEO bundled with web design, PPC, social and design. Broad — but SEO is one line item among many, and the senior name who sold you rarely does the work.

02

An SEO company

Productised packages and tiered retainers, with delivery spread across a team you don’t meet. Efficient at volume, weaker on judgement.

03

A specialist consultant

One experienced person, a small client list, direct accountability, and depth in a single sector. That is what I do.

Why a consultant

Why law firms choose a consultant over an agency.

01

You work with the specialist, not a salesperson

The person who audits your site and sets the strategy is the person who delivers it.

02

Sector depth, not sector dabbling

I work only with solicitors: the SRA Code, YMYL scrutiny, practice-area search behaviour, and how AI assistants weigh ReviewSolicitors, Chambers and the Legal 500.

03

No tie-in contracts

The work earns the next month. That is the only lock-in I am comfortable with.

04

A deliberately small client list

I take on a limited number of firms so each gets genuine senior time.

05

Built for search and AI visibility

SEO and AI search are the two channels that now decide who solicitors are recommended to. I cover both — most agencies still treat AI search as an add-on.

An honest boundary

Where an agency may be the better fit.

I would rather tell you this than win the wrong engagement. An agency is likely the better call if you need web design, paid media, social and SEO delivered together under one roof, or if you want a large team turning around high volumes of production work. I do not offer paid media or social. If that is the brief, you want an agency — and I am happy to say so.

What I do cover: technical SEO, local SEO and Google Business Profile, content strategy, entity and schema work, digital PR, and AI search visibility across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot. Scoped to your firm, your practice areas and your regulator — not a template.

Common questions

SEO consultant FAQs.

FAQ 1Is an SEO consultant better than an agency for a law firm?

Neither is universally better. A consultant gives you senior attention, sector depth and direct accountability; an agency gives you breadth of services and team capacity. For firms that want SEO and AI visibility done well by an experienced specialist, a consultant is usually the stronger fit.

FAQ 2Do you work as an SEO company or a one-person consultancy?

A one-person consultancy by design. You work with me directly. I keep a small client list so each firm gets real senior time rather than being handed to a delivery team.

FAQ 3What makes you a law firm SEO specialist rather than a generalist?

I work only with UK solicitors. That means fluency in the SRA Code of Conduct, YMYL and E-E-A-T expectations for legal content, practice-area search behaviour, and how AI assistants source legal recommendations.

FAQ 4Do you offer PPC, web design or social media?

I focus on SEO and AI search visibility. I also build and rebuild solicitor websites where the brief is search-led — see web design for solicitors. I do not offer PPC or social media; if you need those too, an agency will serve you better, and I will say so.

FAQ 5Can you work alongside our existing web team or agency?

Yes. I frequently work as the senior SEO specialist alongside a firm’s in-house marketing or an existing design partner.
