Technical SEO that fixes what’s actually holding the site back.
Crawl, index, render, speed. Deep technical work to make sure search engines and AI assistants can find, parse and trust your site — the foundation everything else compounds on.
When you’d want this
Technical SEO becomes the bottleneck more often than people realise. These are the signals.
Rankings are stuck
Good content, decent links, sensible on-page work — but rankings won’t move. Nine times in ten, something technical is silently capping it.
You’re migrating or replatforming
Site moves, redesigns, CMS changes, headless rebuilds — the moments where technical SEO is the difference between traffic preserved and traffic vapourised.
Pages aren’t indexing
New pages crawled but not indexed. Important pages dropping out of the index. Search Console showing more excluded URLs than included. Classic symptoms.
What’s covered
- 01Crawl & indexationSitemap and robots audit, crawl budget, index bloat, canonical conflicts, noindex misuse, parameter handling.
- 02JavaScript renderingHow Googlebot (and now AI bots) actually see your site. Pre-rendering, hydration issues, JS-dependent content, headless setups.
- 03Core Web Vitals & speedLCP, INP, CLS — real fixes that move the metrics, not just theatre. Image strategy, render-blocking resources, server response.
- 04Site architectureURL structure, internal linking, hub-and-spoke models, taxonomy, breadcrumbs. The shape that compounds authority.
- 05Mobile & internationalMobile rendering parity, hreflang, geo-targeting, ccTLDs vs subdirectories, regional SERP behaviour.
- 06Schema & validationCross-checked structured data, no conflicting types, valid against the spec, working in the SERP — not just the validator.
- 07Server logsWhat Googlebot and AI bots are actually crawling vs what you think they are. Cuts through assumptions fast.
What you walk away with
Technical audit document
Every issue identified, with severity, impact, fix and rationale. Built to brief developers directly.
Implementation
Either I ship the fixes on your site, brief them for your devs, or pair with your engineering team — whichever fits.
Validation
After fixes are deployed, I re-test and confirm what’s moved. No “it’s done” without proof.
Who technical SEO is for.
Technical SEO is for sites where the technical surface is genuinely the bottleneck.
You’re the kind of client this works for
- Large or complex sites (10,000+ URLs, ecommerce, multi-region)
- JavaScript-rendered content where indexation is suspect
- Migration, replatform or domain change underway
- A developer or platform team who can implement fixes
This probably isn’t the right service for you
- Small brochure sites where technical SEO isn't the issue
- You won't make code or platform changes
- You expect technical alone to fix content or authority gaps
- You want a technical audit but no implementation support
Common questions
Do you actually work in code?
Yes — WordPress, headless, custom builds. Comfortable in PHP, the WordPress hooks system, JS frameworks, and reading server config. For complex builds, I’ll often pair with your devs rather than push past them.
Which platforms do you work on?
WordPress most often, plus Webflow, Shopify, headless setups (Next.js, Astro, Gatsby) and bespoke. The principles transfer; the implementation specifics don’t.
How quickly do technical fixes move rankings?
It depends entirely on what was broken. Fixing indexation can show results in days. Speed and Core Web Vitals improvements often take a couple of months to filter through. Architecture changes compound over six to twelve.
Can you handle a site migration?
Yes — this is one of the highest-stakes pieces of technical SEO work. Pre-migration audit, redirect mapping, post-launch validation. Done properly, you preserve traffic. Done badly, you lose half.
